ABOUT US
We’re a husband-and-wife team… working together in perfect harmony. Aye right! 😂
Like many great Scottish ideas, ours started over a cold beer.
Back in 2019, we were on holiday in one of our favourite places — Benalmádena on the Costa del Sol. We were out enjoying the sunshine with friends when we stopped for a refreshment.
There, we spotted a football club stubby holder and slipped an ice-cold bottle of beer into it.
That was the light-bulb moment.
Could we create something similar, but with a Scottish twist?
When we got home, the research began.
And when we say research, we mean countless hours looking at products, designs, materials, suppliers and, of course, trying to work out whether this crazy idea could actually become a business.
Days turned into weeks.
Weeks turned into months.
There were plenty of disagreements, laughs, frustrations and fun along the way — after all, we're a husband-and-wife team! — but eventually we decided to take the plunge.
And Novelty Bottle Coolers was born.
Our research showed us that there was a real gap in the market for fun, high-quality Scottish-themed drink coolers.
We wanted to create products that weren't simply another piece of merchandise.
We wanted something people would actually use.
Something that could be taken to the football, used at home, enjoyed at a BBQ, packed for a holiday or simply brought out when it's time to enjoy a nice cold drink.
Fast forward seven years…
We're incredibly proud of how far that original idea has come.
Today, we're licensed partners of:
My Name'5 Doddie Foundation
Scottish FA
Heart of Midlothian Football Club
Bullseye
Our products are also stocked in more than 30 shops across Scotland and Australia, and we've supplied a growing number of football clubs and organisations across Scotland.
From that first idea over a beer in Benalmádena, it's something we're genuinely proud of.
And we're certainly not finished yet.
Scottish designs with a difference
You'll find a growing range of unique Scottish-themed bottle and can coolers throughout our website, including some fantastic designs incorporating stunning tartans.
Whether you're looking for something for yourself, a gift for a football fan, or a unique Scottish present, we hope you'll find something you love.
And if you have a club or organisation looking for something a little different, we can also produce custom designs, subject to minimum order quantities.
We don't currently offer personalised or one-off designs, but we're always happy to discuss larger custom requirements.
Why Novelty Bottle Coolers?
Because we believe merchandise should be fun, useful and a little bit different.
We're passionate about creating products that people actually want to use — while celebrating the clubs, brands and Scottish identity that mean so much to us.
Most importantly, we're still a small husband-and-wife business who genuinely care about what we do.
So thank you for supporting us, whether you've bought a cooler, spotted our products in a club shop, recommended us to someone else, or simply followed our journey.
We really do appreciate it.
And because there's one thing we've learned since that first idea in Benalmádena…
Let's be honest…
We all love a cold beer (or wine!), don't we? 🍺🍷
